A computer program has been designed to accompany the storage system to facilitate order preparation.
The program offers the following features:
- Direct order management: The employee who receives the order enters it into the system. The warehouse worker directly receives all the necessary information about the order which he/she has to prepare in real time, without intermediaries. This speeds up order preparation and cuts the need for information supply chains.
- Route optimization: The computer program tells the worker where the material which needs to be prepared is and indicates the optimum collection route, making it possible to prepare up to 6 orders containing up to 20 different types of item for different customers in a single journey. Crane time can be reduced by more than 50%.
- Traceability: Quality information is entered into the order by either keyboard or barcode reader as it is prepared, instantly guaranteeing 100% traceability without creating any extra work.
- Cost control: While the workers prepare the order, the program calculates the preparation times, providing greater order-preparation cost control by customer, route, worker, etc. in order to analyze warehouse performance as an independent factor.
