Upmoviom LMA-System
The LMA-System automates the movement of long products between the unloading area, the storage racks and the order-picking stations.
Features
The LMA-System builds on UPMOVIOM's extensive experience in front-access storage solutions. It maintains the sliding internal U-supports used in its existing systems, while automating their movement by means of a shuttle that travels along the central aisle.
The shuttle positions itself in front of the selected storage location. Its rails align with those of the storage compartment, allowing the shuttle system to retrieve the material using a set of hooks. It then transports the material to the loading area or to one of the 2 existing order-picking stations.
The automatization of the material handling streamlines warehouse operations, increases productivity and optimises the available storage space. It also reduces the need for manual handling and improves safety by minimising the movement of heavy loads throughout the facilities.
Up to 3.500 kg loading capacity on the shuttle
150 seconds real cycle time
Up to 16 hour per day estimated work time
How it works
Bundles delivered by the supplier are unloaded conventionally using a one or two-hook overhead crane.
Using the touchscreen control panel, the operator identifies the material to be stored. Each product reference is assigned a specific storage location, identified by row and column. The bundle is weighed, and the material's traceability is identified.
The loading station is located at one end of the automated storage system and is used exclusively for the incoming material. Here, the material is placed on the shuttle's movable internal load carrier before entering the storage system. During this operation, the shuttle positions itself in front of the loading station and the movable load carrier receives the corresponding material. The bundle is then transported automatically to its assigned storage location.
Once the load is confirmed, the shuttle collects the movable internal load carrier and automatically returns it to its assigned storage location. The station adjusts its width to the size of the load carrier and deposits the material.
The operator requests the required product reference using the touchscreen control panel. The shuttle then automatically retrieves it from its storage location and transports it to the order-picking station. This station is located at the opposite end from the loading station, allowing incoming and outgoing material flows to be separated and organised efficiently. It is equipped with lifting tables to make it easier for operators to collect the material. It allows you to ensure that the order is correctly prepared by verifying the weight.
Once the order preparation is completed, the shuttle returns the material to its storage location and retrieves the next requested bundle. Two independent stations allow two orders to be processed alternately.
The software allows the purchase orders to be linked to the client's ERP, creating an order list, recording traceability, and providing notifications when purchase orders are ready.
The outbound area is equipped with two independent order-picking stations. While the operator works with one product reference, the shuttle can retrieve or return material at the other station. This reduces waiting times and unnecessary movement around the hall.
The stations can also be equipped with an auxiliary table for preparing lightweight orders without using the overhead crane, keeping the materials for each order together until preparation is complete.

Benefits
Automates the operator movements in the warehouse and reduces the distances operators need to travel.
The two outbound stations allow operators to alternate between orders and make productive use of the shuttle's travel time.
Safety barriers control access to the stations while the automated shuttle is operating.
The system digitally manages and monitors every storage location, ensuring full traceability and complete inventory control.
Each storage compartment is designed according to the dimensions of the different sections and materials to be stored.
The system can be integrated with your ERP and other existing warehouse management and logistics systems.
